It is an airport serving the French city of Bordeaux and is locally known as ‘Aeroport de Bordeaux- Merignac '. It is located in the town of Merignac , about 6 miles west of the city of Bordeaux . This airport was ranked 6 th among the airports in France for passenger handling and the volume of traffic with more than 3.5 million passengers.

This airport is a bit far from the main city where you may find next connection for travel or accommodation with the only link to the main town through a coach company known as ‘ Jetbus ‘, this lack of public transport system can be a problem. But the French and local authorities are working on connecting this airport to the city through a dedicated tram link.
